A WEB SERVER is any place on the web that offers you the opportunity to create or keep your web pages on its site. I have indexed a few servers for you. FortuneCity This site offers 20, I repeat, 20! Mb of FREE, that's FREE, space to upload or create your own web pages. It has a web page designer called HomeBuilder, which would defeat the purpose of DarkHorse, but it's something to get you started. I think the creator of this server is very imaginative. Here is some background: ForcuneCity is a cyber city. When you sign up for the service, you will be asked what district you want your page in. These districts build the city. There are different districts for different intersts. After you have completed the sign up sheet, you will be given a cyber street address that corresponds to your district. FortuneCity offers an FTP service and an HTML editor. This is definetly a good choice. Xoomis another FREE server that gives you 11 Mb of free space for your web pages. Xoom offers FTP and a starter web builder, but not an HTML editor, yet. It is expected soon. Xoom offers chat room and message board features. This is an excellent server to host your web pages. |
